Guess what’s only two months away. The “56th Academy of Country Music Awards” is returning to Nashville on April 18th. Like last fall, it’ll be held at three locations: The Grand Ole Opry, the Ryman Auditorium, and The Bluebird Café. The show was a fixture in Vegas, but it moved to Nashville because of the pandemic. And yes, there will be safety protocols. As far as the nominations and who will host, we’ll hear about that in the coming months.
CARLY PEARCE says she’s proud of her new album, “29”, which is out Friday. She should be. She wrote and recorded it while going through a heart-breaking divorce . . . and without her brilliant producer Busbee, who passed away in 2019. Carly Pearce will turn 31 in April, but it was her 29th year of life, when she lost her dear friend and only producer, Busbee, to a sudden diagnosis of brain cancer, and when she got married and also made the decision to get a divorce, that inspired her brand new collection of music, aptly titled 29. While the title track, “29,” is about her own personal experiences, Carly says, “I think that everybody can put themselves in this song in some form or fashion of just life maybe not turning out the way you thought it was going to, and owning that and sitting in that a little and processing it and being honest with yourself.”
RYAN REYNOLDS and BLAKE LIVELY have once again opened their hearts and checkbooks to help those affected by the pandemic-fueled hunger crisis. The celebrity couple donated $500,000 to two organizations — Feeding America and Food Banks Canada. Those groups were also the beneficiaries of the couple’s other million-dollar donation to aid the fight against hunger. Food Banks Canada also honored the couple, adding to Reynolds, “You continue to be not only our favourite Canadian, but also our favourite superhero. (sorry, Hugh Jackman).”
Game of Thrones stars KIT HARINGTON and ROSE LESLIE are the proud parents of a new baby boy. The couple met in 2012 on the set of “Game of Thrones,” where they played onscreen lovers Jon Snow and Ygritte. The pair married in June 2018 with a celebration at the bride’s ancestral castle in Scotland.
